Define It

Restating the problem clearly, in your own words, before doing anything else. Half the work, hidden in plain sight.

Decompose It

Breaking a big problem into smaller ones — small enough that the next step is obvious.

Multiple Options

Generating at least three possible approaches before picking one. The first idea is rarely the best.

Test Small

Trying the cheapest possible version of an idea, on purpose. Failing fast, learning faster.

Reflect & Iterate

Looking back at what worked, what didn't, and what to change — without shame, just curiosity.

Embrace Constraints

Treating limits as a gift. Tight constraints unlock better, sharper, more honest solutions.

    Real problems, not textbook ones

    Children solve actual problems — in the school, in the community, in their own lives. The stakes are real, the answers are not in the back of a book, and the learning sticks.

    Socratic dialogue

    Mentors do not give answers. They ask better questions. 'What do you actually know? What are you assuming? What's the smallest test you could try?' Over time, children begin asking themselves these questions automatically.

    Design sprints

    Short, time-boxed problem-solving sprints — define, ideate, prototype, test — give children a repeatable method they can carry into any future challenge.

    Stuck is welcome

    We teach 'stuck' as a normal, productive state — not a personal failure. Children learn the specific moves that get a stuck mind moving again.

    Show your thinking

    Working out is shared, not just answers. Children sketch on whiteboards, talk through reasoning, and learn that thinking is something to be proud of — not hidden.

    Calmer under pressure

    We do small, low-stakes 'pressure moments' — surprise constraints, time limits, twists — so that when real pressure arrives, children have already practiced staying calm inside it.
